Hotel del Coronado finished Blackstone’s more-than-$550 million restoration with its 1888 Victorian building — the front porch and lobby restored, every Victorian room redesigned, the garden courtyard returned to its original layout, and two new restaurants, Nobu Del Coronado and Veranda, added. A 39-story tower between Little Italy and the waterfront with 231 rooms and suites, many with bay-view balconies, and a rooftop pool and bar on the 39th floor. It slipped from summer 2026 to January 2027 and is not yet bookable.
Planned as the largest Fairmont in the U.S. — a $550 million glass tower across from the USS Midway with 1,160 rooms, a rooftop pool and two 20,000-square-foot ballrooms. The 2027 date dates from the 2022 announcement, with little public construction news since, so treat it as a target.
A $250 million conversion of the 25-story Tower 180 office building into a 371-room Hyatt Place and a 189-room Hyatt House, with the Lurline Cocktail Club on the 25th floor. Completion is targeted for the first half of 2028.
