Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square opened on September 2, 2026, and you can book it now. It's a 685-room reinvention of the 22-storey building at 790 Seventh Avenue that used to be The Manhattan at Times Square, and IHG has made it the Crowne Plaza brand's flagship for the Americas.
It is the newest arrival in our tracker of new hotels in Times Square, and one of the most significant 2026 openings in our New York City new-hotel guide. Below: when it opened, how to book it, what's actually inside, and the naming mix-up that's sending people to the wrong building.
When did Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square open?
IHG announced the opening on September 2, 2026, and owner Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC) marked the official launch later that month. The hotel is fully operating, not in a soft-open or preview phase. Highgate manages it day to day.
Can you book Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square yet?
Yes. Rooms are live on IHG's own channels and on the major booking sites. Because it's the newest inventory in the district, it tends to price as a premium Crowne Plaza on quiet weeknights and jumps hard on event dates — Thanksgiving parade week, the Rockefeller Center tree-lighting stretch and New Year's Eve especially.

Crowne Plaza Manhattan Times Square
IHG's new Americas flagship for Crowne Plaza, steps from Times Square, Rockefeller Center and the Broadway theaters, with skyline suites on the upper-floor Manhattan Level. Points-eligible and brand new — but parade week, tree-lighting week and the ball drop can push the same room to several times its January rate.

It's a full repositioning of an existing Midtown tower rather than a ground-up build. IHG describes it as a showcase for what the next generation of Crowne Plaza hotels will look like, and roughly half of the brand's global estate is now new or recently renovated.
The building
The 22-storey tower at 790 Seventh Avenue was, according to IHG and its owner, originally constructed for the 1964 New York World's Fair. It operated for years as The Manhattan at Times Square before ARTIC partnered with IHG to bring it into the Crowne Plaza brand.
Rooms and the Manhattan Level
All 685 rooms and suites were redone in the brand's newer modern style, many with city views. The upper floors hold the Manhattan Level, with larger suites and panoramic skyline views.
The Broadway Suite
The top-floor Broadway Suite on the 22nd floor comes with a private terrace — rare at this price tier in Midtown.
Fifty-First Street Social
Fifty-First Street Social is the hotel's all-day dining and lounge hub, named for its corner of Midtown.
The Plaza Workspace
The lobby's Plaza Workspace is a tech-enabled social hub built for casual meetings and focused work, part of Crowne Plaza's "blended travel" pitch to guests mixing business and leisure.
