But here's what most travel sites won't tell you: some of the freshest hotel rooms near Walt Disney World are off-site properties that opened in the last two years, with free park shuttles, free breakfast, and no resort fees — at a fraction of the cost.
Most "budget hotels near Disney" lists are padded with properties that opened five or six years ago. This one isn't. Every hotel in the main sections below opened, rebranded, or finished a full room renovation within the last 24 months. Older properties that are still genuinely good value get their own section at the bottom, honestly dated, so you can tell the difference. Quick orientation: Off-site doesn't mean worse. Several hotels here are Official Walt Disney World Good Neighbor Hotels — same 30-minute early theme park entry as Disney's own resorts, plus free park shuttles, at meaningfully lower nightly rates. What off-site can't give you is Universal's Early Park Admission to Epic Universe, which is exclusive to Universal's own hotels.

WoodSpring Suites Orlando opened February 2026 as a pure extended-stay property — every suite has a full in-suite kitchen, and the weekly and monthly rates are the lowest of any recent opening in the metro. There's no free breakfast, no shuttle, and no pool, and it isn't pretending otherwise. What it is: a brand-new room with a kitchen, pet-friendly, guest laundry on site, at a nightly cost that makes a week-long Disney trip meaningfully cheaper. If your budget is the constraint and you have a car, this is the math that works.
Renaissance Orlando Resort at Disney Springs

Formerly the B Resort & Spa, the Renaissance Orlando Resort at Disney Springs completed a full interior overhaul and joined Marriott's Renaissance collection in late 2024 — new furnishings, redesigned lobby, refreshed rooms throughout, at one of the most coveted addresses near Walt Disney World. A pedestrian skybridge connects the hotel directly to Disney Springs, and free shuttle service runs to all four parks. As an Official Walt Disney World Hotel, guests receive early theme park entry. For location-per-dollar this is one of the strongest stays near the parks.
Villatel Orlando Resort, Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy

If you're travelling as a group, this changes the arithmetic entirely. Villatel Orlando Resort opened March 2025 as the first Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy resort in the United States — 256 two- and three-bedroom apartments plus 270 themed villas across 80 acres, all with full kitchens, separate living areas, and private balconies. Many units have themed kids' bedrooms and arcade games. The $25 million Aqua Bay water park sits at the center with slides, a lazy river, and a splash zone, alongside pickleball and basketball courts and a clubhouse with Topgolf Swing Suites. For a family of six or a multi-generational trip, one apartment beats three hotel rooms on both cost and sanity.
Hyatt House International Drive

Hyatt House International Drive opened December 2024 on I-Drive, roughly fifteen minutes from Disney's main gate. The selling point for families is apartment-style rooms with full kitchens — cooking your own breakfasts and a few dinners cuts the single largest line item on a Disney budget. Free breakfast is included on top of that, and the rooftop pool is unusual at this price point. The I-Drive position also puts Universal, SeaWorld, ICON Park, and the Convention Center within reach, which makes it the right base for a multi-park trip rather than a Disney-only one.

It now has among the newest-feeling rooms in Disney's entire value category. The bigger advantage is Disney Skyliner access: a direct, free gondola connection to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios with no bus involved. For a trip weighted toward those two parks, that's a genuine time saving every single day. Early theme park entry applies as at all Disney resorts.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter

Disney's Port Orleans Resort finished refreshing all 1,008 French Quarter rooms in May 2025 — hard flooring in place of carpet, walk-in showers, sliding barn doors, updated USB-A and USB-C outlets, and subtle Princess and the Frog details throughout, with Tiana-inspired artwork and musical motifs. The Doubloon Lagoon pool and Mardi Grogs pool bar were revamped at the same time. It's the smallest of Disney's moderate resorts, which is an advantage — compact, easy to navigate, and the boat launch to Disney Springs is the best transport experience on property. Right now it's the moderate resort with the newest rooms.
Disney's Port Orleans Resort — Riverside

Riverside is French Quarter's larger sibling, with a sprawling antebellum Louisiana feel and the Royal Guest Rooms — princess-themed, with fiber-optic star ceilings — that are a genuine step up for families with young children. Be aware that refurbishment here is still in progress: work began May 2025 in Magnolia Bend and has been moving building by building through The Mansions, the Royal Guest Rooms, and on to Alligator Bayou, with the full project targeted for completion in 2027. Refreshed rooms match the French Quarter standard. Request Magnolia Bend when you book, or you may land in a room that hasn't been touched yet.
Flamingo Crossings & the Value Standbys
These properties are past our two-year window, so they don't belong in the list above — but pretending they don't exist would be its own kind of dishonesty. They're among the best-value stays near Disney and several have amenity packages the newer hotels can't match.
Flamingo Crossings Town Center is the cluster most Orlando visitors have never heard of. Sitting on Western Way just outside Disney's western gate in Winter Garden, it was master-planned in partnership with Disney to deliver more affordable rooms within a five to ten minute drive of the Magic Kingdom area. The Residence Inn by Marriott Orlando at Flamingo Crossings has oversized suites with real full-size kitchens — not a microwave and a mini-fridge — plus free breakfast and a Publix within reach, which for a week-long stay with kids can save several hundred dollars in food alone. Next door, the Home2 Suites by Hilton Orlando at Flamingo Crossings is the Hilton equivalent: in-suite kitchens, free breakfast, pet-friendly, and consistently one of the best rate-to-proximity ratios in the whole market. Both are Disney Good Neighbor Hotels with shuttle access.
In the Disney Springs Resort Area, the Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando remains the single best amenity package near the parks and it isn't close. Free hot breakfast every morning, plus the 5:30 Kickback — free hot food and cold drinks including beer and wine, every evening. No resort fee. For a family of four that's realistically $80 to $120 a day in food you simply don't pay for. It's an Official Walt Disney World Hotel with free hourly shuttles to all four parks and early theme park entry. Over in Kissimmee, the Embassy Suites by Hilton Orlando Sunset Walk is an all-suite property inside the Margaritaville campus with made-to-order breakfast, separate living areas, and Island H2O Water Park access included. And on Disney property, Disney's All-Star Sports Resort is still the cheapest way to legitimately sleep at Walt Disney World, with Disney discounts of up to 25% on advance bookings bringing it well below the rest of the on-site portfolio.
